Foundation Chain

A foundation chain usually means chaining a number of loops. This is the basis of your crochet work and you will then be making a stitch in each of these loops.

Foundation chain:

a) Start by making a slipknot. 

b) To chain a loop, yarn over with the crochet hook in the yarn noose and pull a loop through the noose chain.

c) Repeat.

Tip: Use cute colourful crochet stitch markers to keep track of how many stitches you have in a row and for quick counting.
