I came up with this pattern on a snowy weekend vacation at a log cabin in the woods. Between sipping hot cocoa and playing board games by the fireplace, I was inspired by the cozy warmth of the bulky knit blankets in the living room. I wanted to design an easy scarf that would remind me of relaxing weekends away in the mountains.
This scarf works up in bulky weight yarn with a large crochet hook, creating a thick, squishy fabric perfect for bundling up. The simple double crochet stitch gives great texture and drape. I added a contrasting border to frame it and finish it off.
The scarf knits up quickly - you can make a shorter one for kids or a long one to wrap around your neck a few times. I love using Wool-Ease Thick & Quick because it comes in so many great colors from bold primaries to natural neutrals that complement the cabin vibe.
I hope this pattern helps you create the perfect cozy cabin scarf to keep you warm wherever you go. The repetitive stitch is perfect for beginning crocheters and makes a great portable project. Happy hooking!
